Job Description: Dixie Dot Studio Superstar
Dixie Dot is searching for a Studio Superstar to cover Maternity leave until March 2027.
We are looking for a part time member of staff to join the Dixie Dot family and assist in this progressive business, running the day to day tasks of a busy craft and pottery painting studio based in Kingsway, Gloucester.
Working at Dixie Dot might not be *quite* what you think! Many people assume we spend our days just making beautiful things, and while that may sometimes be the case, more often we are doing lots of cleaning, chatting to customers while we work, spending time alone in the glazing room and then a bit more cleaning!
We love working at Dixie Dot, it’s a high energy, great fun, colourful, varied job, and it will be a privilege to be able to put on our apron and say you’re part of the team!

You do not need to be ‘arty’ for this role but creativity helps. If you can imagine and produce a beautiful window display, find a way round a tricky situation so everyone is happy, or design a brilliant new kids craft workshop, creativity takes many forms!
The role:
You will be :
- preparing the studio for customers,
- serving and assisting the customers while they are with us, (drinks, pottery advice, taking money, collecting their pottery, taking prints of babies and animals etc)
- running parties
- taking and making telephone calls
- maintaining cleanliness
- glazing pottery, loading & unloading the kiln
- running workshops and parties
- creating window displays/studio displays
- maintaining stock inventories
- unpacking stock deliveries
- managing messages via our website, email and Facebook page
- maintaining our in-house workflow systems
You must be happy to work alone sometimes, cover adhoc hours, holidays/sickness and evening work depending on workshop schedules.
Probationary Period: 12 weeks
Start date: As soon as you can!
Hours - Part time, 16+ hours a week to include: 1-2 evenings a week plus some weekdays and ad hoc Saturdays, occasional Sunday party cover, staff sickness and holidays.

About Us:
At Dixie Dot Crafts we are passionate about creativity and bringing people together through the joy of crafting. Our vibrant and happy studio offers a wide range of hands-on experiences, including pottery painting and craft workshops for all ages. We are now looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and creative individual to join our team as a Studio Superstar.

You will have a focus on teaching craft workshops to adults in the evenings and assisting with the day to day operation of the studio at other times.
