In this workshop, you'll have the opportunity to mix the component parts of Jesmonite and use silicone moulds to cast two items of your choice. With a selection of moulds available, you can choose from coasters, oval trays, or a variety of trinket trays. We'll guide you through different techniques to ensure your creations have a smooth, tactile finish.
All materials will be provided, so you don't need to worry about sourcing anything yourself. Just remember to wear an apron or clothes you don't mind getting messy, as Jesmonite can be a bit messy but oh-so-fun to work with!
Throughout the class, you'll gain insight into the fascinating properties of Jesmonite - an eco-friendly material that serves as a fantastic alternative to fibreglass and a lightweight substitute for cast concrete. Not only will you learn a new skill, but you'll also have the satisfaction of taking home your very own unique Jesmonite pieces.
